Paul Ekman

Paul Ekman (Washington, 1934) American psychologist expert in the study of emotions and was Professor of Psychology at the University of California , San Francisco, for which he retired in 2004. It has also been an advisor to the Department of Defense United States and the FBI. He has been awarded three times the Award for Scientific Research from the National Institute of Mental Health.
In 2001, Ekman worked with the actor John Cleese to make the documentary The Human Face to the BBC.

Unlike cultural anthropologists, Ekman says that the expression of emotions have a universal biological root.
