Brahms. Symphonies 2 and 3. Hungarian Dances 1, 3 and 10. Wilhelm Furtwängler. Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. 1952. 1949. 1949.

Dear friends, we continue with the wonderful discs devoted to the Brahms symphonies recorded by Furtwängler. This time we put the precious approximations live with the Berlin Philharmonic and symphonies second and third. The album is complemented with some Hungarian Dances recorded in studio with the Vienna Philharmonic.

The two interpretations of the symphonies are, again, a superb example of Furtwängler directorial art. Sincerely great and wonderful approaches to two works hard but they offer beauty unexpected fruit when approached with love, respect, sincerity and understanding.

Symphony No. 2 Brahms was composed in the summer of 1877 in Carinthia and building had a very short time compared to the lengthy period of composition of the First Symphony of the German master. The character is sad, some tragic or dramatic strokes from their first two movements. It tastes sweet, intensely contemplative, tranquil, serene to be qualifying with less weight in their final movements. The play was a great reception at its premiere on December 30, 1877 in Vienna, directed by Hans Richter.

is a wonderful example of how Brahms composed from small musical motifs from which to develop a building is structurally sound and incredibly beautiful and varied. Many experts maintain their "debit" and "likeness" of Beethoven's Sixth Snfonía for his gentle and pleasant and although I do not go into those details, which can not quite able to discuss, in my humble opinion Brahms through other paths perhaps even greater achievements own resemblance to authors like Schumann or Schubert. Apart from these technical details, the symphony is extremely captivating, beautiful in its melodic, with some superb songs and impressive development.

The beautiful interpretation of Furtwängler can admire actual details of great beauty. The incredible quality of Brahms's melodic exposed immeasurably, the sound that manages the Berlin orchestra is simply incomparable teachers even the likes of Szell, Giulini, Jochum and Kertesz. Sound and emotional depth that is achieved for my taste none. It is impossible to contain the emotion, for example, the start of the second movement simply overwhelming. Throughout the interpretation of the sonic details emerge amazing work that directly touch the heart and while the sound that exists in other versions made in stereo era, with much better sound quality is much higher, I must admit that this takes sound enough (more than enough) to appreciate in all its glory to a superb orchestra and given to the music. Simply brilliant.

The Third Symphony of Brahms, Symphony of a great difficulty in their interpretation and which can easily fall into the "fussiness" was composed in 1883 in Wiesbaden and was premiered in Vienna on 2 December 1883 by Hans Richter, who considered it the "Eroica" by Brahms (slab which Brahms had to have!).

A piece of strong character, intense, very emotional and beautiful, extremely warm and vibrant with alternating movements and soft passages, slow and lyrical, with other more brave, strong or even dotted dramatic hues. The work is simply beautiful, rich in expressiveness, drawn on a subject basis, the foundation of the work, fantastic. His famous and wonderful third movement is just one example of the difficulty of expression of all the work.

Furtwängler In interpreting can appreciate the full value of the work without excessive sentimentality, gives fair value to all the nuances of the composition and the expressive beauty and sound that manages to extract it from the Berlin Philharmonic In my view the best I've heard. It's a performance full of richness, sweetness, nuance, color, rhythm and emotional expression aside from the way of developing excecional the musical dicurso Furtwängler and exceptionally beautiful sound that manages the Berlin musicians (simply awesome).

Really a wonderful album, a superb exhibition of a way to see music and an incredible time in music performance. A simple and wonderful displays of art and musical expression that has become difficult to repeat. This would require a time and relive a belief that hard again.

time - so I understand it Furtwängler - not a physical reality is a spiritual condition which reduces the unit all the "many." (Celibidache).
