Dear friends, during these next few days, and if is possible with an acceptable rate, p o commemorate the centenary of the death of Mahler, I have the intention of proposing to go along these days some of the recordings that I find most attractive.
The task is difficult because the crowd opt Mahlerian recordings existing is almost impossible, try to leave some CD rarely seen (something difficult, very difficult) and in some cases (which I usually do not) let recordings from a blog friend (and I own through it) for the musical value I have made.
The idea is as simple as paying tribute to a controversial musician, special, difficult but at the same wonderfully beautiful when it touches your soul.
The approximate approach is:
- First: Walter, OS Columbia. Kubelik, Bavarian RSO. Horenstein, OS, London.
- Second, Bernstein, OF New York, DG. Klemperer, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. Third
- : Bernstein, Vienna OF DG-DVD. Mitropoulos, Cologne RSO. Fourth
- : Walter, OF Vienna, 1955. Fifth
- : dubious election.
- Sixth, Szell, Cleveland Orchestra.
- Seventh: dubious election. Eighth
- : Neumann, OF Czech. Ninth
- : Barbirolli, OF, Berlin. Bernstein, OF, Berlin.
- Das Lied von Erde, male voice: Bernstein, OF Vienna. Krips, Vienna OS.
- Das Lied von der Erde, male and female voices: Walter, OF Vienna.
- Klagende Das Lied: Boulez, OS, London. Lieder
- number: Hampson, Bernstein. Des Knaben Wunderhorn
- : Szell, London OS.
may suffer any modification or list but least go out there.
I hope you enjoy this beautiful musical journey.
